Harris was released without charge at noon say police sources

Iconic Australian children’s entertainer Rolf Harris was today (Thursday, 29th Nov 12) questioned under caution at a Police station in London by Metropolitan Detectives.

The officers involved are currently investigating a series of allegations arising from the Jimmy Savile sex abuse scandal. It is not thought their questioning of Harris is directly linked to Savile however.

Mark William-Thomas, a former police detective now turned TV presenter and the man who first broke the Jimmy Savile story, confirmed the news via his personal Twitter feed.

So far no mainstream media outlet has reported Harris’ police interview.

A spokesman for the Metropolitan Police has confirmed that Mr Harris, 82, was released without charge at noon on the 29th of November. He attended a south London police station by appointment.

It is understood officers from the Met’s Operation Yewtree searched the entertainers home address in Berkshire on the 24th of November 2012.

Harris admitted himself to the £7,000 per week Priory Clinic. A source close to the star told reporters, “He decided to seek treatment as everything has been very difficult since the police got in touch.”
